Haugesund 15/03/2017: Following an agreement with Eidesvik Shipping for the purchase of the Norwegian built (2009) Construction Support Vessel “Viking Poseidon”, the Assodivers Group has today taken delivery of the vessel in Haugesund, Norway. The vessel was renamed “Ariadne”, hoisted the Cypriot Flag and had her class transferred to the American Bureau of Shipping. The “Ariadne” is a DP3 vessel, measures 130m in length, 25m in beam, has a Gross Registered Tonnage of 11,719 and features an ROV Hangar capable of accommodating 2 work-class ROVs, two moonpools and a 250T offshore crane. This new addition to the specialized Assodivers Group fleet, coming only 2 years after the acquisition of the “Aethra” (ex. Polar Prince), further enhances the Group’s capacity and capabilities in the field of subsea cable installation.
Assodivers Group has been involved in offshore activities since its establishment in 1976. The group specializes in the provision of turn-key services for submarine cable installation, protection and repair projects, utilizing specially designed equipment and marine means. Our list of services includes submarine cable loading, transportation, laying, pulling and landing onshore as well as sea trench excavation by means of trenching and/or jetting techniques, offshore mattress installation and provision of pre and post installation survey.
Acting either as a turn-key solution contractor or as a subcontractor, Assodivers has been involved nationally and globally in a variety of projects for some of the leading cable manufacturers of the Telecommunication, Power and Alternative Energy Industries such as Alcatel, Fulgor, Nexans, NKT, NSW, Prysmian and service owners such as OTE, PPC, REE and Terna.
